Loves these dishes, so light weight..bad artherites hands, can lift these, other dished way to heavy.. very pretty..

Picture Perfect
I bought my first 16 piece set from WalMart a few months ago. It looks elegant and has the Corelle ease of use. When I take pictures of food, it looks really good against the white backdrop. The design is modern and not intrusive. The bowls with the simple green edge look really pretty. I just bought my second set on Amazon with a bonus set of 4 smaller bowls (plain white). It arrived in perfect condition.

We debated initially whether to buy the heavier Corelle Ultra line, but I actually prefer the lightness of these dishes; unlike cookware, where heavier usually means better,I think light works fine for dinnerware. I'm now retiring my older Martha Stewart stoneware, which definitely has a frumpier look and is much harder to use. For people who like to cook a lot and don't believe in paper plates, Corelle is a very good choice.

I've been living with dishes from the 99 cent store and thrift stores (hey, I live alone, I'm a clutz and don't want to feel bad if they break, and I use paper plates anyway...) I finally decided to get something nice since relatives are visiting (OK, I'm showing off, their kitchen looks just like mine did before this shopping trip). I've always admired Corelle, but never got any. I looked on line and found that even though the manufacturer seems permanently stuck in the 1960-70's as far as most of the designs, somebody in the company actually learned it is 2007 and designed a few pieces that look fabulous and modern.

I strongly recommend that you look in the stores (although Corelle is hard to find) before you pick a pattern. I was going with Simple Lines and hadn't even considered Kobe, but when I saw and compared it was no contest!

WalMart was .99 for the sixteen piece set and on line and at Target, etc. same thing is .99 up to .99 (plus shipping if you get on line, plus sending any broken pieces back, etc.) One of the boxes in the store "rattled" like some pieces were broken, and one of the cups in the two sets I bought was nicked and I'll have to return it, but I didn't really care about the cups a lot anyway, they just came with the dishes and bowls. The dishes look and feel great and wash up PERFECT! I expect raves from my guests and am actually trying to find another pattern called Cherry Blossom that is also in the square plate style. Looks very elegant as well as casual depending on the setting/placemat.

I wanted this set to make my other corelle. They are difinately quality. I bought them about a month ago. I have used the set at least once a week. Love it!

I bought this for my wife and she loves it! All items have been durable and very useful.

There are very few accessories for this product. This is a nice set.
Wish they would come out with more pieces.

Totally Unhappy - Items Returned
My partner and I ordered this casserole set because of how VERY happy we are with our Simple Lines Corelle Square Dinnerware. We had searched for any 'completer' items and were pleased to find what we 'thought' were going to be the first of several items we would be adding in the Simple Lines Corelle Square pattern. However, although we realized all pieces could/would not be made from the same 'glass-like' material as the dinnerware, we at least expected them to be 'pyro-ceram' like other Corningware items (many of which have had designs on them).

We were totally displeased to find the casseroles to be made of what amounts to 'pottery' and even have UNFINISHED bottoms. Perhaps had the entire pieces have been glazed we 'might' have considered keeping them, but the raw undersides were unattractive, unserviceable, and a complete turnoff. My only words to Corning and the Corelle Division are "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?"

As a result, planned purchases of the Canister Set and other items that are made similarly from what they are CALLING 'ceramic,' will now never happen. Any potential future purchases will occur only if Corning gets its act together and reissues Completer Pieces in pyro-ceram or other appropriate material.

We love our Corelle Square dinnerware and would recommend that to anyone. Beyond that -- forget it...for now.

Great Corelle Set
When my order finally arrived it was like it was packed for serious abuse, box inside a box. When I took the bowls out, they were much heavier than I thought they would be, this is good. I really believe that this was money well spent.

Not happy
I have owned Corelleware for all of my 40 years of marriage, and this is the first time that I had a set that has warped! My water is at 120 in my water heater and I don't dry dishes in the dishwasher, so I don't know why they would do this. Several of my plates and a couple saucers have done that. I wish Corelle would go back to making the cups in the same material as the rest of the dishes. Maybe I will try the Ultra if they come up with a nice pattern in it.

Nice dishes and lite to handle
Lite weighted dishes that are nice to handle to place and take out of the dishwasher. Fine tableware.

Color is not the same
I ordered these thinking they had a black and grey pattern. I got them in yesterday and they are actually Brown, with Green and peach like color. This is not what I expected at all, not happy about the colors. They need to put a color description to match the actual item or change the picture.

Nice finish, design, and value. Will continue using/buying Corelle products thru Amazon in the future...

these dishes are so preety they are better than i thought they were the order was set so fast . i love these dishes

Quality bowls at an affordable price !
We purchased 12 of these bowls to supplement the amount of clean bowls we have on hand, as we use a few daily to feed the cats.

They have a nice clean design and are of excellent quality. The right size for catfood or oatmeal, but maybe a bit small for those who eat large bowls of cereal.

Corelle Square Dinnerware
I like the fact that the dishes and bowls are made in the USA, but didn't care fore the fact that cups are made in China.

Love my new corelle
I searched for over a year for a pattern on square corelle dishes that would work in my kitchen. As soon as I saw this pattern with the blue and brown colors, I knew I had found just the right set. Didn't even see it on the Corelle website! I just love it and it works perfectly in my kitchen

Gorgeous dinnerware
I researched and debated and finally settled on this set. I am very pleased with the pattern and the quality. They feel like china. I really like that the luncheon plates are a larger size, we use them for most meals rather than the large dinner plates. I did have a problem with the first set breaking during shipping. The dinnerware itself is probably not really packaged well for shipping. Not sure if there is much that Amazon can do as I think the problem is the vendor. Although Amazon should take extra care in packaging to lessen the chances of breakage. Amazon was great about sending me a replacement set immediately.

The mugs are not covered
I (Brian's wife) just ordered two sets of this design back in the US to bring to Ireland and I can not wait to place them on our table. I would not settle for anything other than this brand and we liked this design. This is what she has to say:
Corelle is AMAZING and this is one of the brands that I can find no substitutes for. Anyway, I just want to make sure people are aware that the mugs are not covered under the warranty bc these are not made from Vitrelle. This has been the case for a number of years now. With that said, this should not deter you from seriously considering Corelle! My parents have a set and the mugs/cups are not Vitrelle, yet they have not suffered any damage to them and their sets looks as good as the they they bought them about 10 years ago.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND PRAISE THIS BRAND!!

nice design, but some flaws
Corelle vitrelle dinnerware is convenient because it's lighter than stoneware, easy to clean, and convenient for the microwave. It's durable.

Square design pluses: the luncheon plates are very convenient in the square design, as you grab a little more space due to the corners, and this makes them great to use as regular dinner plates. Great size for those dieting and wanting to use smaller plates to help control portion sizes. Square design drawbacks: on the other hand, the square design makes the dinner plates seem rather huge, so you end up not using them. So, square is great for the luncheon sizes, but not great for the dinner plate sizes!

I found the square bowls to be sort of odd. They do not put the design on them, which makes them rather plain and boring.

This design is very nice, but on some of the plates it appears to be out of register so that the color inside the leaves bleeds over the border, for example. There's some little flaws here and there that must have happened when they were printing or transferring the design. I suspect this would be the case with any set of plates you buy, online or otherwise.

I would recommend buying these Corelle plates from a store, where they would have samples on display and you can see the actual thing. The designs Corelle has on its website look very nice, but in "real life" the colors are not as saturated and it's not as crisp as they appear in photos.

The stoneware mugs are very pretty and the more narrow, taller look is nice, too.
